A STRANGE EXPERIENCE

Last month I was on holiday in Ireland with my mum and dad. One day, we were driving through a small village. It was time for lunch, so we stopped at a restaurant .

It was a large , old builiding. We looked through the window. There were lots of people in the restaurant. They were eating , drinking and chatting . A musician was playing the violin. But there was something strange about the people . They weren't wearing normal , modern clothes. They were wearing hats, jackets and dresses from another century . We couldn't understand it. But we were hungry , so we opened the door .

When we went into the restaurant, everything was different. The people were wearing normal clothes. The musician wasn't there- the music was on CD. It was a very strange experience !

Good morning class,
I hope you have enjoyed your holidays but now we need to start working hard because the end of the course is coming and I think we 'd better refresh some old concepts and explanations you probably don't remember now, but don't worry I've got some exercises to refresh your mind .

Explorers

In 1519, Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer, wanted to travel around the world. He left Spain with five ships and about 260 men. But Magellan didn't finish the journey. He died in April 1521. Only one ship came back to Spain. The eighteen men on that ship were the first people to travel around the world .
Robert Scott, an English explorer, wanted to be the first person to get to the South Pole. In 1910, Scott and his men started their journey from New Zealand. They arrived at the South Pole in January 1912. But they weren't the first at the Pole . Amundsen, a Norwegian explorer, arrived there in December 1911. The weather became very bad and Scott and his men couldn't get home . They died in Antarctica in March 1912 .

ADJECTIVES-COMPARATIVES AND SUPERLATIVES

Good morning class ,

And now we are going to work with some zodiac vocabulary to know a little bit more about yourself and your schoolmates . Please click on 5 , 6 . Remember to write down and translate vocabulary you don't understand .
Now you have to ask your colleagues for his/her star sign and write down at least one sentence of each one with the information given in the last exercise . For instance , Libra are optimistic and boastful , and Pepito is Libra so the sentence could be ." Pepito is optimistic and boastful ". Copy the sentences in your notebook .
Remember to show all your vocabulary and sentences to the teacher at the end of the session . Good luck !

To say no, to make the negative we use the word DIDN'T and then the verb in its base form ( without -ED or in the first column) .
